If Substituting Kendamil With Another Formula
1. Do your research
Read about your options. There are plenty of resources available online.
2. Consult your pediatrician
Every baby is different, and its nutritional needs and demands are unique. Each product is designed with a particular goal in mind. I suggest consulting with your pediatrician before purchasing a substitute formula.
3. Purchase a small quantity to test if it is a good fit to your baby
There is no one-size fits all baby formula. Popularity is not a guarantee that you baby’s digestive system will agree with it.
It is important to find the perfect formula match for your baby. If you and your baby are just starting with formula, we recommend that you begin with a smaller order for a single item, or try a couple of different products in order to match well with your baby.
Kendamil Organic Formula Substitutes
There are good alternatives to Kendamil Organic and Kendamil Classic. Organic Life Start carries organic European cow milk-based options that can be considered with the proper guidance of your pediatricians.
In general, all organic European formulas do not have any GMO's, don't use any soy, sugar, corn syrup, or any artificial flavors and do not have synthetic preservatives. Although made from skimmed milk, all suggested formula options above are clean, simple, and offer complete nutrition for a baby’s growth and development.
However, if you still prefer Kendamil, it's worth noting that each of their formulas comes in three stages, catering to the nutritional requirements of a growing baby. For Kendamil Organic, these stages include Kendamil Organic Stage 1 First Infant Milk, Kendamil Organic Stage 2 Follow On Milk, and Kendamil Organic Stage 3 Toddler Milk Formula. Similarly, Kendamil Classic offers Kendamil Classic Stage 1 First Infant Milk, Kendamil Classic Stage 2 Follow On Milk, and Kendamil Classic Stage 3 Toddler Milk Formula. These stages maintain the same high standards of quality and purity, providing essential nutrition for the needs of a developing infant. As always, consulting with pediatricians can offer valuable guidance in selecting the optimal option for your baby's health and well-being.

We had a very similar experience when Kendamil Organic went out of stock. I also switched to HiPP UK, and while it’s a high-quality formula, my baby had some issues with gas and mild constipation during the transition. I do think the change from whole milk (in Kendamil) to skim milk (in HiPP) can play a role, especially if your little one is used to the richness and fat content of Kendamil. Every baby reacts differently, but it’s definitely something I noticed too. When we couldn’t get Kendamil, we ended up trying Holle Cow Stage 1 and it worked well enough as a temporary option. The ingredients are clean and it’s gentle, but it still wasn’t an exact match. I completely understand avoiding US formulas after a bad experience.

I temporarily switched to Hipp UK from Kendamill Organic when it went out of stock. My daughter had some constipation and gas issues, and I chalked it up to the formula change. Do you think the switch from whole milk to skim milk contributed to her current condition? I don’t really have a choice because I could not get the EU version of Kendamil anywhere. I tried the US version and it made her sick, so I am not going anywhere near an American formula because the hassle is just not worth it! Thanks in advance for your inputs!

When we first started looking into alternative formulas, I had no idea goat milk would be the dark horse that stole the show. My baby had been dealing with constant spit-ups and bloating, and it felt like we were running in circles trying different cow’s milk-based brands. After switching to Holle Goat, things really turned a corner—less gassiness, smoother digestion, and a much calmer baby overall. I used to think goat milk was just a trendy option, but now I see it’s a real game-changer for sensitive little tummies. It’s been a breath of fresh air for our feeding routine!
