Preparation Instructions

The following English translations are based on both EU and US FDA guidelines for safe baby formula preparation:
- Wash hands and sterilize bottles, nipples, and accessories.
- Boil fresh water. Cool to ~40–50°C as per label guidance.
- Add the exact number of level 4.5g scoops.
- Close bottle and shake until powder fully dissolves.
- Cool under running water to ~37°C (~98°F). Test before feeding.
- Discard any unfinished formula within 1 hour.
Periodic packaging updates are common. Always follow the preparation and storage directions printed on the product label.
Safe Storage Instructions
- Mixed formula should be consumed within an hour in order to prevent bacteria from growing in the prepared formula milk.
- Once opened, the manufacturer recommends to use the can of formula within 21 days. Discard any unusued formula powder if the can hasn't been used up yet.
- Each can should be stored in a low-light, cool temperature environment out of direct sunlight.
- It isn't necessary to refrigerate the unmixed can of formula.
- To prevent uneven heating, it is recommended to pour heated water into a bottle, rather than microwaving water that is already inside the bottle.

For babies aged above 12 months, it is advisable to prepare HiPP formula for an older baby and transition up a stage to the next formula (HiPP Dutch Goat Stage 3) which offers age-appropriate nutrition.
If you are mixing HiPP formula but your baby has already started to transition to purees or solids, it is common to replace 1 daily bottle for 1 full jar of puree or 1 full portion of solids.
If your baby does not finish a full bottle once it is prepared, most parents will still count the feed towards the daily number of total feeds. Feeding amounts and daily servings are general guidelines. Every baby’s appetite is different, so adjust as needed while maintaining a balanced diet and healthy routine.
The above preparation instructions for HiPP Stage 2 Dutch Goat Formula lists details found on the most recent packaging style. However, these mixing instructions may be updated at any time by HiPP, so double check your can to see if you may have an even newer packaging style.
