If Substituting Kendamil With Another Formula
1. Do your research
Read about your options. There are plenty of resources available online.
2. Consult your pediatrician
Every baby is different, and its nutritional needs and demands are unique. Each product is designed with a particular goal in mind. I suggest consulting with your pediatrician before purchasing a substitute formula.
3. Purchase a small quantity to test if it is a good fit to your baby
There is no one-size fits all baby formula. Popularity is not a guarantee that you baby’s digestive system will agree with it.
It is important to find the perfect formula match for your baby. If you and your baby are just starting with formula, we recommend that you begin with a smaller order for a single item, or try a couple of different products in order to match well with your baby.

It takes me back to when my baby was thriving on Kendamil Organic, and then—just my luck—it went out of stock right when we needed our next batch. I remember the panic of wondering what I could give him that would be just as good. After some research (and a few nervous days), we tried HiPP Dutch, and thankfully, it worked beautifully for his digestion and kept him just as happy. Reading this, it takes me back to that moment of scrambling for options but also realizing how many great choices are out there. It’s comforting to know that even when your go-to formula isn’t available, you can still find something high-quality that works just as well. In the end, it taught me to keep a backup plan—because babies don’t wait for restocks!

How do you know if digestive changes your baby experiences after switching to Kendamil Organic or Classic are just a normal adjustment or a reason to see a doctor? I recently changed formulas and noticed my baby became more gassy and had different stool patterns, and I wasn’t sure if I should be concerned. I know some shifts are expected when introducing a new formula, especially when ingredients or milk sources are different. But it’s so hard to tell where the line is between “normal adjustment” and “something’s wrong.” I try to monitor things like sleep, feeding behavior, and overall mood, but the uncertainty can be really stressful. If I see signs like extreme fussiness, refusal to eat, or very loose or bloody stools, I start to worry more. Do other parents wait a few days to see if things improve, or call the pediatrician right away?

Kendamil has been an amazing formula for my baby—it’s made with whole milk, has no palm oil, and contains all the nutrients my baby needs. I especially loved that it’s rich and creamy, which seemed to keep my baby full and satisfied longer. The clean ingredients and gentle formulation gave me peace of mind as a parent. Unfortunately, I started having trouble finding Kendamil in stock consistently, which became stressful during feeding time.
That’s when I looked into HiPP Dutch as a backup, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well it worked. HiPP is also organic, easy to digest, and made with high-quality ingredients like lactose and natural prebiotics. My baby adjusted quickly to the switch without any digestive issues. While I still think Kendamil is a fantastic choice, HiPP has proven to be a reliable and gentle alternative.
